MOVIE REVIEWS

1. The Orphan

Cathy and I watched it the first day it came out. We really didn't expect much, but we decided to watch this movie because we wanted to see something scary. Yet, this movie isn't much of a horror/scary movie. It's more of a thriller, crime, "psycho" movie, lol. The little girl who acts as the "orphan" can act damn well! She gave me chills throughout the whole movie. Don't want to ruin the movie for you guys if you're gonna watch it, but there were a lot of ..... malice..... in the movie. The "orphan" did so many devilish things that it totally creeped me out. Cathy and I held hands like 5 times throughout the movie because we didn't want certain people to die. "So DID ANYONE die?" Not telling you. "Good ending? Bad ending?" Not telling you. (: But overall, I freaking loved this movie. One of the best thrillers I've ever seen! Go watch it if you're wondering what you should watch at the movie theatres right now. 8/10

2. Crows Zero

From Asianmediawiki: "Director Takashi Miike’s recreated Hiroshi Takahashi’s original comic book that sold more than 32 million copies in Japan. This film is about violence in private institutes. The film presents the story that precedes the comic book. The characters have also been newly re-created.

Suzuran High School is also known as The School of Crows. The biggest clique, Serizawa Army and its boss Tamaran Serizawa are challenged by a new student to the school, Kenji Takiya. Takiya, son of a yakuza boss, wants to be the school’s ace fighter. But at the advice of Ken Katagiri, a low-ranked start-out yakuza, Takiya starts to muster together a gang of his own. And as he grows into a true leader, he must face an ultimate battle with Serizawa’s gang. Through Serizawa and Takiya’s battle, director Takahashi shows not only his unique aesthetics for violence but also the true meaning of charisma, friendship, and leadership. "

So I've been downloading a lot of Japanese movies with Korean subtitles lately (because it has so much better quality than the ones in the internet). And also because Japanese movies are so.... unique and fun to watch (: I've been wanting to watch THIS movie for quite a while now because one, OGURI SHUN's in it and second, because this movie was a big hit by both the Japanese and the Koreans, lol. I really liked the fighting scenes (: Hard to explain, but watch it, and I guarantee ANYONE will love this movie. And Oguri Shun comes out so damn fine in here. He looks so good as a bad boy, lol (: I've downloaded Crows Zero 2, which came out like this year I think. But I haven't watched it yet. Sooooon I will. I think this movie is more for the guys, but I freaking enjoyed my ass off! 9/10

3. Tokyo Serendipity / Koisuru Madori
From Asianmediawiki: "Yui (Yui Aragaki) is an arts student at university who falls in love for the first time with Takashi (Ryuhei Matsuda), her neighbour in the flat above her. Takashi had already had a relationship with Atsuko (Rinko Kikuchi), Yui's flat previous tenant, whom Yui sincerely admires. "

Another Japanese movie. I LOVE Aragaki Yui. One of the prettiest actresses in my opinion (: When I saw the review for this, it said it was "romance" too, but.....I didn't really see that in the movie. Besides that part, I thought the movie was really cute and comical at times. Nothing too amazing though. I was kind of disappointed =[ 5/10

4. Josee, the Tiger, and the Fish

From Asianmediawiki : "Tsuneo is a university student working part-time in a mah-jong parlour. Lately the customers have been talking about an old lady who pushes a baby carriage through the streets. They say she is carrying something for a crime syndicate, and they wonder what it is she has in the carriage... Money? Drugs? One day, the owner of the mah-jong parlour sends Tsuneo out to walk his dog. A baby carriage comes rolling down a hill and crashes into a guard rail. The old lady asks him to look into the carriage, where he finds a young woman clutching a knife. This is how Tsuneo first meets the girl who calls herself Josée. Her real name is Kumiko, and she is unable to walk, so her grandmother takes her out early every morning in the old baby carriage. To thank Tsuneo for his help, they offer him breakfast, and he begins to fall under the spell of the young woman's unusual charm. Kumiko has named herself after the heroine of a novel by Françoise Sagan, and Tsuneo comes to call this strange girl by that name. He grows more and more attracted to her. "

I Absolutely LOVED this movie. After you watch the movie, you will just think for a while......just about the movie. And then you'll just admire the movie. Oh gosh, I don't know how to express this movie. Just so good (: 10/10 <3

This Week

Monday

I went to Ryan's house. Played a bunch of games: cards, guitar hero, super smash bro brawl. Then Eric and Daniel came. We went to GLENDALE! I went bikini shopping with the guys. I know, I know, weird. But they're like my SISTAAAS. Too close to them -_- Oh, and then we ate CARL'S JUNIOR.

Tuesday

I went to Ryan's house AGAIN after school. Man his house is like my 2nd home. I feel like it's my own home there LOL. Then Eric, Marty, and Daniel came. We went to Glendale for a while again -_- AND THEN THERE CAME THE FAT BURGER CHALLENGE! We went to Fat Burger in Granada Hills to eat the Triple King Burger. This is how it works. Whoever finishes the Triple King Burger gets their picture up on the wall in the Fat Burger restaurant. Took me approx an hour to finish the damn burger. Threw up almost like 20 times. SO HARD AND SO GREASY. But yeah Ryan, Eric, and I took the challenge and finished it (: Then after fat burger, we went to the mall in Northridge b/c Marty had to buy a hat from this one adult store. (Just kidding) After that, we went to Raymond's house and played MONOPOLY!!! This monopoly is different. Why? Because instead of paper money, there's credit card!!! So cool.

Wednesday

Chris Pak and I went to go eat Soon Doo Boo (Korean Tofu soup thingy) at BCD in LA. SO FREAKING GOOOOOOD. 100x better than that big greasy fat burger. We also went to Pinkberry and Glendale for a while. Nice catching up with him.

Thursday

HERE I AM RIGHT NOW! I kinda did nothing today. (: Tomorrow I'm gonna see Cathy! YAY<3>

Happyyyy Dayssss

Okay so the AP scores came in yesterday in the mail. I prepared myself to see a "4" for AP Calculus and a "2" for AP US History. But......................................GUESS WHAT, instead, I saw a "5" and a "3" !!!!!!!!!!!! I got SO happy, that I literally ran inside the house screaming lol. And then my grandpa got scared and he came in the room saying "WHAT HAPPENED??! IT SOUNDED LIKE A THIEF CAME IN!!!" Hahahaha. Wow. All the hard work paid off, I guess. I literally studied like 5-6 hours of my AP US History Princeton prep book everyday for like 2 weeks. (TEARS OF JOY)

Summer school's been alright. I'm the only senior in my Life Skills class....sigh. Mr. Martinez is really nice though (: Half of the kids in the class seem SUPER immature though (freshmen -_-). They annoy me. But oh well, I only have 1st period, so school ends 10:30 for me! Although I stay at the library until like 12:30 for my mom to pick me up LOL. I'm trying to finish "Pride & Prejudice" this summer...well I hope I finish by the end of next week. I'm like on page 200 now.... 180 more pages to go, lol.

Summer's awesome so far! I'm loving my life even more too because I've been getting a lot of butterflies in my stomach lately (;

INDEPENDENCE DAY!

HAPPY INDEPENDENCE DAY EVERYONE!

Okay so today, I went to Ryan's house at like 2:30...although Ryan wasn't there, LOL. Well, Lillie and Liane were there (: Eric, Chris, Raymond, Daniel, and Andy came too. We helped Lillie with her project/lab thingy for her class. We still don't know what the "hypothesis" was though, lol.

Well anyway, after helping Lillie with her project, we just played guitar hero & mario kart, lol. Then while Andy, Daniel, and I stayed inside the house, the rest left to buy our "snack meal" from Jack in the Box haha. Andy and I played chess (: I lost, of course...like always... lol. Then after eating, we went outside to play NINJA! HAHAHAHA. We played for like a long time...maybe for like an hour? I don't know. But yeah, when it was about 9 we walked to near Taco Bell and sat on this thingy to watch the fireworks! "Wow" was Andy's favorite word to describe the fireworks (:
After that, some of us were hungry again, so we went to Denny's haha. Andy, Raymond, and I just drank those Denny's drinks though. Andy left around 10:40 to catch the bus. Hope he didn't get raped :O Just kidding.

At around 11:10 or so, I went home.
FUN DAY! (:

Crappy cellphone picture =/

I'm Proud of Myself

I got straight A's for Term D! I seriously didn't think I'd get an A in Mr. Sermeno's "drafting" class....I got like Cs and Bs in my projects LOL.

But yeah! I got 1 B this whole year. And straight A's! I'm so proud of myself! Although I know there are many other smarter people (JENNY HEHE), I'm so happy right now!

I think my overall highschool gpa's over 4.o now (:
